Planning your wedding during lockdown

Planning a wedding is a really exciting time; there is lots to think about and lots to decide on. It might not seem like now, during lockdown, is the ideal time to plan a wedding, but, let’s face it, with lots of time on your hands, particularly as a couple, now is a better time than ever!

To help inspire you to use your lockdown time as wedding prep time, we have put together our top tips on how to plan a wedding during lockdown.

Make your invites- or at least practice the skills

DIY weddings are becoming more and more popular and one area that couples often choose to do themselves is the invites. Depending on how intricate you want them to be, this can be tricky, so, what better time to brush up on your calligraphy skills or perhaps just get handy with some bits, bobs and glue to create something special?

Create an Amazon Wish List

You may not realise it now, but there are lots of little things that you are going to need to buy for your big day; so, it makes sense to start getting a list of those together. A great way to keep everything together when you are ready to order is to create an Amazon Wish List, this will allow you to figure out the bits that you really need and those that might not be quite as important.

Make Pinterest your friend

There is so much wedding inspiration out there that it is a great idea to make Pinterest your friend and to use it to your advantage. Take a look at other people’s wedding boards and see what ideas you like for yourself. Sure, your big day is all about you, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t see what other couples are thinking about for their big day too!

Finalise your budget

You have to admit that putting together your budget is not exactly the best part of wedding planning. However, it is a necessity. Sit down together and think about what money you have to spend out on your big day and what things you want to buy. This will really help you to put together your budget and figure out what you have to spend and where.

Get in touch with some suppliers

Chances are that there are going to be plenty of suppliers at home at the moment themselves, which means that it is a good time to get in touch with them. Here at 1 Entertainment we are only too happy to speak to prospective future clients about their wedding plans and what they want for their big day! We are sure that there are plenty of other suppliers out there who are doing exactly the same thing.

The main thing to think about when it comes to wedding planning during lockdown is that you should do your best to use this time wisely. Not only are you together without any other distractions (apart from maybe Netflix box sets that is) but you also have something other than Covid-19 to talk about!
